Amir Khan told what he must do in order to get Kell Brook rematch

After falling to defeat in convincing fashion to Kell Brook last month, Amir Khan has now taken a surprising U-turn on his decision to retire from professional boxing – and is seeking a rematch against his rival. But if he's to do so, he has been told he must prove himself to earn a rematch against Brook.

Fans had waited over a decade for the two rivals to face-off in the ring and the bout didn't disappoint, with Brook ultimately ending victorious via a sixth-round stoppage after inflicting heavy punishment upon Khan. After the fight, Khan all but confirmed he will retire.

However, Khan has now seemingly changed his mind completely, with promoter Ben Shalom revealing that he believes he will fight again. Khan does indeed have a rematch clause, however, Shalom stated that he'd prefer if he did invoke that to allow Brook to fight elsewhere, or preferring to see both retire.

Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom said: "Amir, I think will fight again. He will fight again, he wants to fight again. I think he has understood why it might be a tough sell to go straight back into a Kell Brook fight.

"I believe him that he was injured [against Brook] – I do believe that there were some issues with the camp and he only had 10 weeks. It's for him to prove he's not finished, it's for him to prove it's not just about the money, and therefore I think another fight to show that might be more appropriate before he takes on someone like Kell Brook."

Both fighters received big paydays from the bout, but have made over £15 million in their career – with a rematch between the two unlikely to be as big of a draw after how comfortably Brook came out as the winner.
