American comedian mocks rugby in viral video after watching Premiership final

An American comedian has taken to TikTok to tear apart rugby, and his controversial video has notched up an incredible 700,000 views in two days.

As you already know, Leicester Tigers secured the Premiership title on the weekend against Saracens, following Freddie Burns' dramatic last-gasp drop goal. However, in the past few days, American comedian Orny Adams has torn apart the kicking sequences during the game.

We can all get frustrated by the monotonous 'kicking tennis' that can befall some rugby matches, but Adams took it to another level, making an entire video on what he saw.

"What makes rugby so special? Not all this stuff, people aren't paying to watch that!" he says as the Tigers work the ball through the hands.

"They wanna see unnecessary kicking. This team is about to kick the ball to THAT team. Now this team, in most sports would run it back that way right? But in rugby, they just kick it right back to the team that kicked it to them!"

As he rips into the constant back and forth kicking, he quite points to the crowd, saying "now these people are paid to watch this".

"This goes on for 80 minutes until somebody finally has the common sense to turn around and kick the ball into their own goal and end the game," he said, as Freddie Burns kicked it out and secured the Premiership title. As the crowd goes wild, he quips: "These people are just excited that the game is finally over!"

It is no surprise that this controversial clip has gained so much attention. The comments section on the TikTok is a mixture of miffed rugby fans, and people who don't have a clue what rugby even is.
