“Amazing for the club” – Cardiff City fan pundit gives verdict on potential transfer for 32-year-old

Cardiff City could be about to pull off a huge coup this summer, with the Bluebirds linked with a short-term switch for Gareth Bale as reported by The Sun.

The current Real Madrid man has been up and down in terms of his club and country career. In terms of his performances for Wales, he remains the real deal and one of their most important players.

He continues to feature regularly and would love nothing more than to drag his side to the World Cup and then feature heavily for them during that tournament.

When it comes to his club football though, the 32-year-old has struggled. He can barely get a game in Spain, having featured only five times for them since he returned to the Bernabeu after a loan stint with Spurs. It looks increasingly likely that he will now not play a part for them going forward too.

That will leave him needing to get himself match fit over the summer and into next season – and if he stays with Madrid, he might not get that opportunity. He therefore could need a new club this summer – and Cardiff would be delighted to bring him in.

A short-term deal does look like it may be on – and now, Football League World’s Cardiff fan pundit Ben Johnsey has admitted he and the rest of the club’s supporters would love to see a deal happen, claiming they have been ‘dreaming’ of a move for the player.
