Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor: Serrano admits superfight 'means everything'

Boxing sensation Amanda Serrano has admitted that her superfight against Katie Taylor ‘means everything’ this weekend.

After years of anticipation, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor will finally meet on Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd at Madison Square Garden. The contest is being billed as one of the biggest fights in the history of women’s boxing, and with just a few days to go until they make the walk, it’s hard to disagree.

Taylor will be putting her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring female lightweight titles on the line whereas Serrano will hope to add to her incredible legacy of holding nine major world titles across seven different weight classes.

With a generational showdown such as this one, you can imagine there’s a great deal of tension in the air.

For Serrano, though, she’s just grateful for the chance to go out there and tear the house down in the world’s most famous arena.

“It means everything, you know, I worked so hard,” Serrano told The Guardian.

“I couldn’t ask for a better partner than Katie Taylor – she’s well-deserving, she’s an Olympic gold medalist and undisputed champion. You have pound-for-pound No 1, No 2, going at it. I’m excited to see who’s the best.”
