Alyssa Healy to captain UP Warriorz in Women's Premier League
The UP Warriorz had bought Healy for Rs 70 lakhs at the WPL Player Auctions in Mumbai on February 13 in Mumbai.Healy, one of the most recognised faces in the sport, is a highly experienced and seasoned campaigner, having played 139 T20Is for Australia, in which she has scored 2,446 runs, with one century and 14 fifties under her belt. She is also considered to be one of the best wicket-keeper batters in the sport, with 110 dismissals (52 catches & 58 stumpings) in T20Is. The 32-year-old captained Australia in their five-match T20I series in India last December, which the visitors won 4-1.

One of the senior-most members of the dominant Australian side, Healy, an opener, has been a key cog in the wheel, and is known to reserve her best performances for the biggest stages, such as the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup final at the MCG against India, where she clobbered 75 off 39 balls to help Australia to their fifth T20 World Cup title. She was justifiably named as the Player of the Match on that occasion. Healy has been a part of all the five title victories. In her illustrious career, she has twice been a part of Australia’s Women’s ODI World Cup triumphs.Healy also held the record for the most runs scored in an innings in Women’s T20Is with a 61-ball unbeaten 148 against Sri Lanka.
