All the new restaurants, cafes and bars opening in Manchester this September

And just like that, summer is slowing slipping out of grasp. Well not quite, we're sure there will still be some pleasant weather as enter September, but we're also ready to embrace the start out Autumn too.

While the summer period is typically a bit quieter on account of the school holidays and trips abroad, we've still seen a good crop of new restaurants and bars open their doors over the last couple of months.

In July, we were spoilt for choice as we welcomed new players including affordable steak house Flat Iron; a new deli tucked away in a hidden Ancoats courtyard; and a huge new Korean supermarket attracting day-long queues in the Arndale.

During August, new neighbourhood St John's welcomed a New Zealand-inspired, all-day dining spot called Caravan, while in Salford, sushi pros Unagi launched a rather lovely waterside spot, and Jerk Junction re-opened its flagship in Chorlton.

Fortunately, the openings continue this month too with new smashed burger and Detroit pizza concepts, plus sandwich revivals and upscale eateries inspired by the Italian-American restaurants of New York. So, as we take our first steps into Autumn, rest assured there's plenty of restaurant and bar openings to ease the transition into the latter part of 2024.

Super Awesome Deluxe

Super Awesome Deluxe is to open in Northern Quarter this September. Developed by Manchester's OG burger team, Almost Famous, the new concept will be slinging out smashed burgers from the former Lono Cove cocktail bar site on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter.
