'All in' - Burnley boss sends relegation message to Everton and Leeds United

Burnley interim manager Mike Jackson believes his side are focused on their task at hand as they bid to escape relegation in the final two matches of the campaign.

The Clarets are currently 18th in the Premier League, two points behind Everton and one point behind Leeds United. They have played the same amount of matches as the Blues, and one fewer than Jesse Marsch's men.

Burnley travel to Aston Villa on Thursday evening knowing that a victory will pull them out of the bottom three. At the same time, Everton will host Crystal Palace with the knowledge that three points would secure their place in the Premier League next season.

The Clarets were beaten 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur last time out but Jackson is taking the positives from the display. He knows his players are aware that matters are in their own hands and that he feels they are in a good place mentally.

Jackson told his pre-Aston Villa press conference [via LancsLive ]: "We have found our best performances have come when focusing on what was needed on the game. When I look at that Spurs game I can see that, I think that allows them to move from moment to moment.

"You only have to look at the dressing rooms at half-time, as a group they were not heads down. They are talking about that themselves.

"We know if we get a certain amount of points from these last two games it’s in our hands. This group works better when we play in the now, mentally we’re in a good place.

"Everybody in the whole place is trying to do their bit, everyone is all in. You can't hide from it, everyone knows what it is.

"But we are at our best if we keep our focus on now. That sounds boring but it is about playing the here and now.
