Alisson Becker: Liverpool goalkeeper's crazy save vs Wolves in 2021/22

Alisson Becker is without question one of the best goalkeepers in world football.

In the eyes of Liverpool fans, he is the finest of all those plying their trade in the position right now and to be honest, it’s hard to argue with them.

In one-on-one situations, Alisson is outrageously good and regularly bails out Liverpool when their high defensive line gets caught out.

The Brazil international is also brilliant with the ball at his feet, which is further highlighted by the fact he has two Premier League assists on record – both for Mohamed Salah.

Last season, Alisson was at the peak of his powers. The former AS Roma man kept 27 clean sheets in his 53 appearances across all competitions, conceding only 41 goals in that time.

The numbers speak for themselves.

And during one of the appearances in which he kept a clean sheet last season, Alisson produced a save that still boggles our minds.

In Liverpool’s 1-0 win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where Divock Origi scored a 95th minute winner, Jurgen Klopp’s main man between the sticks caught a shot that most other goalkeepers probably wouldn’t have even saved.

Leander Dendoncker couldn’t have caught the ball any sweeter from the edge of the box and must’ve thought he was about to see the net bulge.

But Alisson’s elite-level positioning and supreme athleticism allowed him to pluck the ball out the air and cling on to it.

He made it look so, so easy as well…
