Alison Hammond in This Morning 'swipe' as she reveals task she had to perform to get Bake Off job

Alison Hammond appears to have taken a bit of a 'swipe' at her This Morning 'family' as she found a new one as she joins The Great British Bake Off. The presenter is set to make her debut on the hit Channel 4 show when it returns on Tuesday night (September 26).

It was announced earlier this year that Alison would be the new co-host of the popular programme alongside Noel Fielding, replacing comedian Matt Lucas. In December, the Little Britain star announced he was stepping down from his role on the show as he could no longer commit to the programme’s schedule alongside his other projects.

And after filming the series over the summer, Bake Off fans will finally get to see Alison in action when the 2023 run of the baking competition begins. But ahead of her on-screen debut in the famous tent, the 48-year-old has been opening up about her new role.

When asked if joining a new show made her feel like she was "cheating" on her This Morning family she said: "I do a little bit, but do you know what? I feel like I'm with my forever family now."

"They're a lovely gang and I'm just so happy to be part of it," she continued telling Daily Mail, as reported by the Daily Express. "I'm quite sad that filming has come to an end."

It comes after Alison also shared how she was put through her paces in order to bag the co-hosting role.
