Alfredo Morelos provides Rangers injury boost as 'better days' message sent amid transfer talk

Alfredo Morelos says there are brighter days ahead as he continues to recover from a thigh injury amid constant talk on his Rangers future.

The striker is a hero at Ibrox after his contributions to the club since his 2016 arrival, heading into his sixth year in Govan. Talk of moves away from the Glasgow club has never been far away though and already it has resurfaced this summer, with Spanish La Liga club Sevilla reportedly interested in the Colombian international.

Morelos is still very much a Rangers player despite new reports from Stadio Deportivo stating that a member of the 26-year-ol's "inner circle" reckons the forward would be keen on a move. For now he is focusing on a comeback from injury after a thigh problem curtailed his 2022/23 season at 18 goals in 42 outings across all competitions, missing both Europa League and Scottish Cup finals in May.

In a post made to his Instagram account, Morelos is back in the gym and his Light Blues training gear, feeling positive about the new campaign after a tough few months.

He said: "Being positive is not being happy all of the time.

"It is understanding that despite the difficult days, better days will come."

Boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is gearing his men up for a title challenge this coming season along with preparations for this summer's Champions League qualifiers.
