Alexa Bliss: Interesting note on creative plans moving forward for former Women's Champion

There were no plans for Alexa Bliss to enter this year’s Royal Rumble, according to a new update on Bliss’ current on-screen direction.

Alexa returned to Raw on January 10th in a pre-recorded segment, where she has been seen getting therapy sessions to try and ‘cure’ the darker side of personality. A change we’ve seen develop since her storyline with Bray Wyatt began in the second half of 2020.

It was thought that these segments may lead to an appearance in the women’s Rumble match last month, with some suggestions we may have seen multiple versions of Bliss akin to Mick Foley’s famous triple rumble appearance in 1997.

However, according to a new report from Fightful Select there were no creative plans for Alexa to make an in-ring return in the Royal Rumble Match. In fact, it details that there have been nine ‘therapy session’ segments filmed and that this a long-term storyline for Bliss and her eventual live return.

Bliss hasn’t been seen in action since challenging for the Raw Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules in September last year. A match which saw Charlotte Flair defeat Alexa, and later tear Bliss’ much-loved doll Lilly into shreds. Leaving the former ‘Goddess’ crying over the dolls remains in the ring.

Fans have since speculated that her recent return would spark a transformation back to the original Alexa Bless character, a five-time Women’s Champion across Raw and SmackDown, instead of the darker, supernatural inspired gimmick she’s been portraying for the past eighteen months.
