Alejandro Garnacho makes Manchester United promise after signing new deal

Alejandro Garnacho has ensured Manchester United fans that he will "not settle" for the one trophy he has already won with the club and that he is more motivated than ever to bring the good times back to Old Trafford.

The winger was spotted back in training last week having not featured since suffering an ankle injury in the goalless draw with Southampton on March 12. The 18-year-old could be involved at Brighton on Thursday.

“I’m really keen to get back playing once again after almost a month-and-a-half out,” he told MUTV. “I can’t wait to get back to Old Trafford and hear the fans chanting my name, it really gives me goosebumps.

“I’m desperate to be back playing. I’m back in training again, so let’s see when I can be back in the stadium helping the team.”

Garnacho signed a fresh five-year deal on Friday amid an incredible breakthrough season. The Argentine has scored four goals and assisted five more this term, as well as lifting the League Cup at Wembley in February.

The teenager says the taste of success is addictive and has vowed to push for more trophies going forward, with the Reds in an FA Cup final with Manchester City on June 3.

He added: “Nobody in their life would ever have imagined me, at just 18 years old, already winning a trophy with this club, Manchester United, having helped them to achieve that as part of the team.

“This really motivates me even more to want to win more things. In the end, I’m very ambitious and will not settle for having won one trophy. This season we’ve still got one trophy ahead of us to play for and we’ll be battling for it as hard as we can.

“And we also have the target of getting into the Champions
