Aldi tells all customers 'run don't walk' over new addition as shoppers make plea

Aldi has encouraged customers to get behind a special food range this January, telling them to 'run not walk.' The budget supermarket took to social media to show off its vegan and vegetarian range, with hoards of people attempting to cut out meat and other animal-based products this January.

Posting a photo of their plant-based K-Dogs - Aldi's vegan take on the Korean delicacy of the same name - the supermarket said: "RUN DON'T WALK. Our Plant Menu range is packed with tasty alternatives to try this January... Look out for our Vegan and Vegetarian logos to try the full range! Available in store now".

The K-Dogs swap a meat filling for a pea protein 'sausage' instead, coated in a golden crispy crumb. Found in the frozen aisle, a two-pack is priced at £1.99. Aldi's plant-based range also includes Katsu Naked Curry, Smoked No-Salmon Slices, Pulled BBQ No-Pork and a variety of alternative cheese options.

Shoppers can also try No-Chicken Kievs, No-Chicken and No-Beef Pies and Organic Smoked Tofu, among other foods. Many appeared to be impressed by the variety of alternatives on offer.

But some were still not one hundred percent happy, with many making a plea to Aldi. Taking to Facebook, Vicki Brown asked: "Could you keep more vegan stuff all year round... Last year so much stuff disappeared from my local store that I have been forced to shop elsewhere".

Angela Watson echoed: "Please keep all of your veganuary stock…. We’re not just vegan for January, and tbh you guys are the best in pricing and variety of plant based food" as Jenie Athie agreed: "Just do a fulllll Aisle of Vegan alternatives and keep them. I've not had a bad one
