Aldi announces strict 'two per person' limit from next week

Aldi is expected to launch a two-item limit on a popular product in all supermarkets across the UK next week. It comes as it launches a time-limited offer on a popular drink.

From December 27 to December 31, Aldi is reducing its Crémant De Loire sparkling wine from £8.99 to £4.99. This means buying two bottles will only cost you £9.98 - just in time for post-Christmas and New Year's celebrations.

But to ensure people don’t exploit the deal, the supermarket chain is limiting bottles to two per customer. Aldi says the rule will be put in place in a bid to give everyone a chance this festive season, Devon Live reports.

The drink is expected to cause a frenzy among customers thanks to the 44% price drop. Aldi is anticipating huge demand for the wine after its reduction was called out as "steal of the season" by Jane MacQuitty, wine critic at The Times.

Aldi's Crémant De Loire sparkling wine was launched as part of the supermarket’s latest Autumn Winter range. The Specially Selected sparkling wine has been praised for its notes of "mouthwatering, creamy, honey flecked, quince and golden apple fruit".

Aldi's two-bottle limit aims to give more shoppers a chance to raise a toast to the New Year with this refreshing Crémant, Aldi bosses say. Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, added: “We want everyone to be able to raise a glass of quality wine this festive period, without breaking the bank. By lowering the price of our exquisite Crémant De Loire to just £4.99 and introducing a two-bottle limit, we're ensuring more customers can experience this exceptional sparkling wine at an unbelievable price.”

If shoppers can’t wait until December 27 to get their hands on some festive savings, Aldi is dropping the price
