Alan Shearer highlights two 'unplayable' Man City stars that 'bullied' Arsenal

Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer has praised the partnership between Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne after they combined to dismantle Arsenal.

De Bruyne scored the first after being played through on goal by Haaland before the Belgium international turned provider for John Stones on the stroke of half-time. The striker again assisted the midfield maestro for the third before eventually getting himself on the scoresheet in added time.

The two have now combined to score ten goals in the Premier League this season, more than any other pair of City players ever have. Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling's eight during the 2018/19 season was the previous high before the current duo added another two to their joint tally against Arsenal.

Shearer was full of praise for the pair on Wednesday night's Match of the Day. "They (De Bruyne and Haaland) were unplayable tonight," the player-turned-pundit said. "They bullied the two centre-halves, Gabriel and Rob Holding.

"Haaland got one goal, and he could have, maybe he should have, had three or four if his finishing was like it has been most of the season. (Arsenal) just couldn't cope with them tonight; they did bully them.

"And they were never that far away from each other. De Bruyne was always within five or 10 yards of Haaland to get those little pieces off him. It was a magnificent performance from start to finish from Manchester City; they totally dominated in every position, and those two were absolutely magnificent."
