Alan Carr shares dad's unusual request for ITV series Changing Ends

Alan Carr has opened up about his TV series Changing Ends, which is based on the comedian's own life story. Alan has revealed his dad is now his "biggest fan" thanks to the semi-autobiographical series, which debuted last year.

The second series of Changing Ends is set to land on ITV on Saturday, July 13 with the first two episodes airing back-to-back. It will pick up where the first series left off, with Oliver Savell reprising the role of young Alan while Shaun Dooley will return as his dad Graham Carr.

Alan, 48, has revealed that he felt "nervous" about how his mum - who is played by Nancy Sullivan in the ITV series - and dad would feel about the show. However, their reactions have been overly positive and they "love" Changing Ends.

"I was so nervous about what they would think, but mum and dad love it, they watch it over and over again! My dad has been so sweet about the show," Alan admitted.

He went on reveal that his dad Graham, who is a former professional footballer, has a special request when it comes to the TV series. Graham, 79, is always "desperate for more details" about what's coming next and isn't always prepared to wait.

"He never really rings me and if I call the house he immediately puts mum on, but since series one went out he keeps calling me asking about what’s happening in series two, he’s desperate for more details. I filmed a little bit on my phone secretly and sent the video to him, just to get him off my back, but he wants more and I keep telling him he has to wait until it comes out on ITV," Alan revealed.

He sweetly added: "He's like my biggest fan, it's really sweet, but strange because honestly he never usually rings me!"
