Ajax boss provides update on Antony transfer status amid Manchester United interest
Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder has confirmed that Manchester United target Antony is not training with the first team squad, but insists he does not expect the winger to leave before deadline day.
United boss Erik ten Hag is looking for an attacking reinforcement before the window closes and is expected to table a second bid for the Brazilian, with whom he has won two Eredivisie titles. The 22-year-old was left out of Ajax’s 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam at the weekend amid reports that he is pushing for an exit.
Schreuder has reiterated over recent weeks that he does not wish to see any more players leave the club after already losing Ryan Gravenberch (to Bayern Munich), Sebastian Haller (Borussia Dortmund) and Lisandro Martinez (United) already this summer.

He repeated this line again when asked about Antony’s future in a press conference following the Champions League draw, in which the Dutch champions were cast in Group A alongside Liverpool, Napoli and Rangers.
"Antony is not training with the group, but I do see him every day," Schreuder explained. "Nothing has changed since last Sunday. I accept it at this moment."
He added: "I am assuming Antony will stay at Ajax. He has a contract at Ajax."
Schreuder underlined that he is "confident" that Antony will not leave before the window closes and said there is a possibility he could come back into the side to face FC Utrecht on Sunday, suggesting "things can change"”
