Air ambulance scrambled to beauty spot as man in serious condition after being rescued from lake
An air ambulance landed near a popular beauty spot in Oldham on Thursday after a male was rescued from a lake. Emergency services, including paramedics, rushed to the water, near Daisy Nook Country Park in Failsworth on Thursday afternoon (September 1).
The male was pulled from the lake and taken to hospital on a stretcher by road. He is in a serious condition, the North West Ambulance service confirmed.
The initial callout was made by police shortly before 3pm. Advanced paramedics, the incident response teams and heart and ambulance response vehicles attended the scene as well as an air ambulance which landed nearby.

Pictures from the scene show numerous ambulance vehicles parked up on Cutler Hill Road. The North West Ambulance service said they were initially called to Pinch Farm, near Knott Lanes, in the nearby area.
The casualty, a male patient, was then rushed to Royal Oldham Hospital by road. The full nature of his injuries are not yet known but are thought to be 'serious'.
Greater Manchester Police have been approached for further information on the incident.
