Sergio Aguero has announced he is “going to the World Cup” as a coach with the Argentina national team.
Aguero was forced to retire in December, having been diagnosed with heart arrhythmia following his move from Manchester City to Barcelona in the summer.
A five-time Premier League winner, he is regarded as one of the greatest players to ever grace the English top flight, and has over 100 caps for Argentina.

On Thursday, he revealed his plans to rekindle his relationship with the national team, but this time as a coach, not a player.
“I’m going to the World Cup in Qatar. We are going to have a meeting this week,” Aguero told Radio 10.
“I want to be there. The idea is for me to be incorporated into the coaching staff. I spoke with [manager] Lionel Scaloni and president Claudio Tapia.”
Aguero is close friends with several members of the squad, such as Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi.
