AFCON 2023: Moffi Arrives Super Eagles Camp

OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi has arrived at the Super Eagles camp ahead of Thursday’s second Group A game with Côte d’Ivoire at the AFCON 2023.

Moffi got a late call-up from the team as a replacement for the injured Victor Boniface.

However, the striker could not join his Eagles teammates before the commencement of the AFCON due to club commitments.

His arrival would be a welcome development for the coaching crew, as it would add more firepower to the Eagles’ attacking front.

On Sunday, the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Paul Onuachu also arrived at camp ahead of the game against Equatorial Guinea.

While Iheanacho was an unused substitute in the game against Equatorial Guinea, Onuachu came on in the 94th minute.

Despite going into Sunday’s fixture against Equatorial Guinea as favourites, the Eagles could only settle for a 1-1 draw.

Victor Osimhen equalised just two minutes after Equatorial Guinea took a shock lead.

Their next Group A game against host Côte d’Ivoire is on Thursday.

The Ivorians overcame Guinea-Bissau 2-0 to get their campaign off to a perfect start.
