AEW: Top star turns heel on Dynamite

Last night on AEW Dynamite Fyter Fest week 2, a top star turned heel during the highly anticipated barbed wire deathmatch main event between Eddie Kingston and ‘The Painmaker’ Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston went to war in what was a bloodbath of a contest. However, the result was catalysed by the heel turn of a top star.

Eddie Kingston had full control of the match, with the Jericho Appreciation Society suspended in a shark cage. However, Tay Conti attempted to even the odds by brawling with Ruby Soho to gain control of the cage and retrieve the key. 

As Conti was on top of Soho, the Dark Order’s number 99, Anna Jay would drag her off of Soho.

Jay and Conti were best friends and tag partners when a part of the Dark Order. Jay looked to try and talk sense into Conti, before shocking the crowd and dropping Soho, aligning with Conti and the JAS. 

Conti and Jay retrieved the controls and the key, releasing the JAS from the shark cage, giving Jericho the numbers advantage. The Blackpool Combat Club would level the playing field, but again the numbers game would be against them, with Sammy Guevara’s involvement leading to Chris Jericho picking up the victory.

Anna Jay’s heel turn was instigated by a backstage confrontation, with Conti after her loss to the number one contender for the ROH Women’s World Champion, Serena Deeb.

It seems as if the Jericho Appreciation Society just got themselves one more sports entertainer.
