AEW: Jeff Hardy looking forward to reigniting feud with CM Punk.

With Jeff Hardy being the latest acquisition to the AEW roster there are endless possibilities of dream matches for the charismatic enigma. However, it seems his excitement for a potential feud could be with one of his oldest and biggest rivals.

In a virtual meet and greet on Signed By Superstars, Hardy answered an array of questions surrounding his future in AEW, what’s in store for him next and what bouts he is looking forward to the most.

Ever since CM Punk returned to professional wrestling by signing with All Elite Wrestling, he has primarily been the first name people speak of when dream opponents are the topic of discussion.

Hardy followed suit in this trend as he expressed his own opinions regarding the question of; if he was excited to get the opportunity of stepping inside the squared circle again with CM Punk.

Hardy stated that he was very excited because there was:

“A lot of history there for sure”

Hardy and Punk have an exuberant history, competing in a heavily remembered rivalry taking place in WWE where the two feuded for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The story between these two competitors was compelling and came to a definitive finish which ultimately ended arguably Hardy’s greatest run in his singles career when CM Punk beat Hardy in a loser leaves WWE cage match on the 28th August 2009 edition of SmackDown Live.

However, now that the two are once again in the same company for the first time in 12 years, there can finally be a new chapter written for a potentially reignited feud that seemed closed off forever in the relics of professional wrestling.

We will have to stay tuned to AEW television to find out if we see Hardy and Punk stand across the ring from each other one last time.
