AEW Dynamite: Miro makes shocking return
Last night on AEW Dynamite, there was an array of surprises scattered across this action-packed show. However, a surprise came during the open challenge set by Johnny Elite.
Johnny Elite laid out the challenge for anyone in the AEW locker room to step up and face him one-on-one so that he could make a statement to everyone in the back.
However, this backfired for Johnny Elite as a small vignette revealed Elite’s opponent to be none other than The Redeemer Miro.
Miro has been absent from AEW television since Full Gear 2021 when he fell short to Bryan Danielson in the final of the contender’s tournament, where the winner will get a shot at the AEW World Championship.
Miro holds an impressive record in singles competition in AEW, standing at 21 wins and 3 losses. Also, during that time, he held the TNT Championship for 140 days making him the second longest-reigning TNT Champion of all time.
Johnny Elite tried to utilise his speed from the get-go targeting the lower half and legs of Miro, but The Redeemer proved to be too strong for Elite as he fell victim quickly to the Game Over submission manoeuvre that has handed Miro some of his biggest victories in AEW.
Miro now sits at 1-0 in 2022, and it is unclear as of yet what his next move will be next. Whether this is to start new rivalries or revisit his past, all we know is The Redeemer is back, and he is stronger, faster, and more athletic than ever.
You can watch AEW internationally on FITE TV.
