AC Milan 3-2 Inter: Hakan Calhanoglu refused to shake Theo Hernandez's hand

The first Milan derby of the 2022/23 season was an absolute corker.

Two of the biggest clubs in European football locked horns at San Siro on Saturday evening and they served up a feast of football.

It was current Serie A champions AC Milan who eventually secured bragging rights, the Rossoneri securing a 3-2 comeback win over their arch nemesis Inter.

Stefano Pioli’s side fell 1-0 behind in first half to a splendid goal from Marcelo Brozovic, but they responded to the setback superbly.

A brace from Rafael Leao and a strike from the evergreen Olivier Giroud saw AC Milan race into a 3-1 lead, which was eventually enough to earn three priceless points.

Edin Dzeko’s goal shortly after coming off the bench made things very, very tense for the hosts in the final stages, but they were able to hold out for victory.

It was a great day for AC Milan and for all lovers of the beautiful game, as they were treated to a bona fide classic.

However, one of the headline moments from the derby occurred before a ball was actually kicked.

As the two teams prepared to do battle at San Siro, Hakan Calhanoglu refused to shake hands with his former teammate, Theo Hernandez.

The pair played together at AC Milan, but Calhanoglu was clearly in no mood for niceties before the match kicked off.
