"Absolutely gutted but the right decision": Fans react as Keane becomes FOURTH act to have to cancel Co-op Live gig

Keane fans have been left ‘absolutely gutted’ after the band became the fourth act to have to cancel their gig at the beleaguered Co-op live arena.

The band announced on social media this evening (May 2) that their show has become the latest to be cancelled just days before it was set to be held on Sunday (May 5).

The group were set to play at the venue, following on from pop star Olivia Rodrigo's two now cancelled concerts. After the arena was forced to pull A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's show on Wednesday night (May 1) following 'technical issues', the likelihood of future gigs was thrown into doubt.

Today, the AO arena announced A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's show would go ahead this Saturday instead at the AO. Olivia Rodrigo's shows have yet to be rescheduled.

Taking to Facebook this evening, Keane broke the news that their show would NOT be going ahead at the arena and told fans they were 'gutted' but the issue was 'entirely beyond our control'.

"We're absolutely gutted not to be able to celebrate 20 years of Hopes and Fears with you at the Co-op Live on Sunday. This is due to on-going technical issues at the venue and is entirely beyond our control," the group wrote.

"We've tried extremely hard to find a solution as we know so many of you have made travel plans, but it's just not been possible. We are really diappointed that this has happened and are doing all we can to re-schedule the show. Love Tom, Tim, Richard and Jesse x."

Fans of the band were quick to share their disappointment at the news but several said it was the ‘right decision’.
