Aaron Ramsdale sends transfer message to Arsenal and rates Gabriel Jesus signing

Aaron Ramsdale is hopeful Arsenal will continue to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad before the summer transfer window closes and says the club have already signed an ‘amazing talent’ in Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal have signed Brazilian pair Jesus and Marquinhos, American goalkeeper Matt Turner and Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira so far this summer.

The Gunners are closing in on a £30m deal for Oleksandr Zinchenko and could turn their attentions to other targets after the Manchester City star arrives at the Emirates.

‘We’re bringing in players who are hungry and young, like we did the previous summer,’ goalkeeper Ramsdale told Sky Sports.

‘But we’re also bringing in winners as well, who have done it at this level. Everyone who’s come in has raised the level and if anyone else can come in and raise it again, it’s only going to benefit us.’

Asked what impact Jesus has made since his £45m move from Man City, Ramsdale added: ‘He’s a great guy, he chats with everyone and he always has a smile on his face.

‘He’s got amazing talent and he also knows how to win, so I’ve been trying to pick his brains.

‘He’s not going to change everything at this football club in terms of winning things, but if we can take 1% out of his mentality and how he plays then it’s only going to benefit us.’

Jesus scored 95 goals for Manchester City and helped the club win four Premier League titles, three EFL Cups and the FA Cup during his five-year spell at the Etihad.

The Brazilian has made a fast start to his Arsenal career, scoring in both of their recent pre-season friendlies in Germany and America.

Having won a host of trophies at Man City, Jesus will hope to lift more silverware with Arsenal, who finished fifth in the Premier League last season.
