Aaron Morley talks Bolton Wanderers rotation, dynamic midfield & sets ambitious season target

Aaron Morley believes Bolton Wanderers' midfield is more dynamic this season than last and vows that the squad is buying into the rotation which will be often used by Ian Evatt this season.

Wanderers have made a good start to the new campaign. They have four points from their opening two League One clashes and have a second round Carabao Cup clash against Premier League side Aston Villa to come.

This afternoon, they will be aiming to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign when they travel to Port Vale. They sit third in the table heading into the encounter.

Morley believes it has been a positive start for him personally with two goals in his opening two games and for the team as a whole. He believes the engine room is a more dynamic prospect than it was last season, that training is the bedrock of them being selected for a game and that the team being rotated is natural with the squad buying into it.

He said: “It has been a satisfying start. Two in two is great for me and hopefully I can carry that on.

“We feel a lot fitter. It has been non-stop work in pre-season and in the off-season and it is showing on the pitch now.

“It (midfield) is more dynamic this season. There are a lot more options and everyone can play in each position, deeper or higher up, and there are options on the bench as well.

“Hopefully it will be a good season for us now. Every player in training is putting everything in. You have to do that to keep your shirt.

“It’s just not about games, it’s about training and it’s how you train that week and hopefully I can put the work in training to get that first name on the team sheet.
