A34 CLOSED as police descend on major road near Manchester
A major road near Greater Manchester was closed in both directions due to a police incident. Officers were at the scene on the A34 in Handforth, just over the border from Cheadle, this morning (June 5).
Drivers were being urged to avoid the road. A post from Wilmslow Police on Facebook said: "The A34 is currently closed both ways between Handforth Dean and the roundabout with Dean Row Road due to an ongoing incident.
"We will comment on this post when it reopens. Please find an alternative route and allow extra travel time."
