‘A serious threat’ - How the national media reported on a dramatic Arsenal vs Wolves encounter

It turned out to be a disappointing evening at the Emirates Stadium for Wolves as their top-four hopes took a blow with a 2-1 loss against Arsenal.

Bruno Lage ’s side looked to be on their way to victory and to overtake their opponents in the table after Hwang Hee-Chan ’s opening goal in the 10th minute.

However, two late goals from the Gunners - including a winner that went down as a Jose Sa own-goal in the fifth minute of added time - saw Mikel Arteta’s men complete a turnaround and take all three points.

The result means Wolves remain in seventh place in the Premier League table, but still only six points adrift of Manchester United in that elusive fourth position. Wolves also have a game in hand over the Red Devils.

Eyes of the national media were on the game as the race for Champions League football next season hots up.

An attempted back pass to Aaron Ramsdale was executed without enough purchase or, crucially, a look up. In nipped Hwang with the keeper stranded and his tightly angled finish was made to look simple.
