A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton opens up on 'scary' question she was asked after divorce

Laura Hamilton, the familiar face from A Place in the Sun, has opened up about the "scary" question she's been asked repeatedly after her divorce.

The Scottish presenter disclosed last year that she and her former spouse Alex Goward had parted ways after a nine-year marriage. The pair are parents to two children: Rocco, aged 10, and Tahlia, who is eight.

In a candid interview with the Sun on Sunday, Laura shared that she's back in the dating scene but remained tight-lipped regarding speculation about a connection with 44 year old business CEO James Pettigrew, who is also going through a divorce.

Post-divorce, Laura expressed to the Sun on Sunday that she doesn't see her marriage as a failure, especially given her two "amazing" children. Yet, she acknowledged that some have questioned their decision to split, highlighting concerns about being single at 39 as potentially "scary."

She commented: "I've always been quite a strong and independent person. I don't feel like I was 'starting again'.", reports the Mirror.

Laura, who has been involved in property since she was 19, joined the team of A Place in the Sun in February 2012. Despite her gratitude for the show, she admitted that her role can sometimes complicate her dating life.

She commented: "I'm dating. I'm having fun. No, I don't have the apps. I've tried those in the past three years. I went on Raya and thought: 'This is not for me.' I like to meet people organically.

"People do look at me and say: 'I know you from somewhere? ' and that starts a conversation. I did go out on a date with somebody
