A new Indian fusion food concept is opening on Oxford Road
A popular Cheshire food trader, offering up healthy, Indian street food, has opened at Hatch on Oxford Road. Having made a name for itself during the first lockdown, Cheeky Tikka has now opened up at the shipping container food and retail village under the Mancunian Way.
Cheeky Tikka has become a go-to destination for Cheshire foodies and has hosted a number of pop-ups in Alderley Edge and Wilmslow. Run by Aisha Tilstone - who brings a wealth of event planning experience and passion for traditional Indian food with a twist to the venture - dishes range from fan favourites such as Pukka Pakoras and Tandoori Lamb Chops, to Wicked Wings and Crackling Spinach Chaat.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Aisha said: “It’s taken longer than we expected (and the reason why we’ve been so quiet here recently)…but we’ve finally taken a residency at Hatch. We’re bringing banging Indian street food to Manchester - the ‘Bites’ menu will drop very soon - you can expect a street food take on our knockout food packed with lots of spicy goodness.
“We couldn’t have done this without the support of lots of people including our very loyal customers from Wilmslow and surrounding areas. In the meantime, if you’re in the city centre, please drop by and say hello - it would be lovely to meet more of you in person! It’s such a great vibe here with lots of different types of food, bars and music.
“After doing some food deliveries to many of you for nearly two years since the pandemic, your support has helped me to follow my dreams.”
Cheeky Tikka started off as a virtual restaurant during the first lockdown and became popular for its healthy approach to Indian cooking. As demand for party catering grew exponentially as lockdown gradually eased,
