A must-win for Sundowns because of neutral venue? 'We got to fight for it'

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena has no qualms with playing their CAF Champions League Group A clash against Al-Merrikh at a neutral venue in Egypt.

The clash will take place at Al-Salam Stadium in Egypt, Cairo, on Saturday, with the kick-off scheduled for 15:00 (SA time).

Masandawana will be based in Cairo for an extended period as they will take on Al Ahly next weekend as well.

Speaking to the media ahead of their encounter against Al-Merrikh, Mokwena does not feel that it will be any easier to chase a victory against the Sudanese giants.

"Firstly, you are guided by your objectives. Your objectives are to come out of the group stages. That is our immediate focus, regardless of the amount of games or where we have to play those games," said Mokwena.

"The reality is there is six matches to be played. You need a certain number of points to guarantee your qualification into the knockouts.

"We are confident (of a victory), but we are also approaching it with a lot of humility.

"That means we have got no God-given right to expect a win. We got to go out there and fight for it, work hard for it, and we got to make sure we give a good performance."
