8 Championship players Reading could realistically target this summer transfer window

Reading FC have a big summer ahead of them when the transfer window opens on Friday.

The 2021/22 season was a real disappointment for the Royals, with Paul Ince narrowly steering them clear of relegation towards the end of the season.

In the end, the Royals finished the campaign sitting 21st in the Championship table, four points clear of Peterborough United and the drop zone.

It would be negligent not to mention that the club did suffer a six-point deduction from the EFL, though, for breaching their profitability and sustainability rules.

With a further six-point deduction having been suspended and looming over the club until the end of next season, getting the club’s finances in order this summer is a big priority for the club.

Nevertheless, additions need to be made to their playing squad if they are to avoid another relegation battle next season, and here, we’ve picked out eight Championship players that the club can realistically target this summer.
