6 Man Utd youngsters join first-team training as Marcus Rashford sends message

Manchester United have given a number of academy talents a chance to impress in first-team training, with several more established members of the squad away on international duty.

Portuguese trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have a big World Cup qualifying test as Fernando Santos' depleted side host Turkey on Thursday. Victor Lindelof and Anthony Elanga are also in play-off action for Sweden, with the latter called up for the first time, while others are involved in qualifiers or friendlies.

Captain Harry Maguire has joined up with the England squad, along with fellow defender Luke Shaw, but there's no place for fellow Euro 2020 finalists Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. The forwards have instead returned to club training, and Rashford has sent a message after being left out by Gareth Southgate.

"Putting in the work" was the caption on Rashford's Instagram post, with the forward sharing a number of photos. Senior figures Lee Grant and Nemanja Matic, with the latter having retired from international football, but there were also a number of youngsters present.
