Cardiff City managed to get to winning ways in the Championship last night as they put a huge dent in Derby County’s hopes of achieving survival.

Both sides created chances to open the scoring in the first-half as Festy Ebosele fired over for the Rams whilst Tommy Doyle struck the crossbar with a long range effort.

Following the break, Alex Smithies produced a fine stop to deny Ravel Morrison before Isaak Davies and Perry Ng tested Ryan Allsop.

Uche Ikpeazu netted what turned out to be the winning goal for Cardiff in the 85th minute as he steered an effort past Allsop from Ng’s cross.

As a result of this triumph, the Bluebirds moved up to 18th in the Championship standings.
