Manchester dads are truly one of a kind, famous for one-liners so memorable we catch ourselves repeating their words of wisdom and jokes. Whether they're moaning about the house looking 'like Blackpool illuminations' or telling us they're 'off out to see a man about a dog', some of these turns of phrase have stuck over the years.

To celebrate Father's Day, we thought we'd take a look back at some of the memorable things our dads said to us when we were kids. Previously we've asked MEN readers for sayings and threats they remember hearing their dads say in years gone by.
