24-year-old issues brief message as Barnsley confirm his Belgian transfer departure

Isaac Christie-Davies has issued a brief message to Barnsley and their supporters after the club confirmed his sale to a Belgian side. 

The Tykes announced that the 24-year-old had joined K.A.S Eupen this morning for an undisclosed fee.

Speaking as part of the announcement, Christie-Davies wished the club luck for next season.

“I would like to say thank you for the support from the fans, all the staff and every teammate for my time at Barnsley.” the 24-year-old told Barnsley club media.

“I hope the club will bounce back to where they belong.

“Good luck for the season.”

The club also took time to say thank you to the player, stating: “We would like to thank Isaac for his professionalism and hard work during his time at Oakwell.”

Isaac Christie-Davies arrived at Barnsley in September 2020, inking a three year deal at Oakwell after leaving Liverpool.

However, things did not work out for the now 24-year-old, and after just a few months, he was sent out on loan in January 2021 to Slovakian side DAC Dunajska Streda.

The midfielder made six appearances on the continent during that spell, but failed to appear for Barnsley since his return to the club, despite their on-field problems.

In total, Christie-Davies has amassed just two appearances for Barnsley during his three years on the books at Oakwell.

It is about time this transfer was made, to be honest.

When Christie-Davies left Liverpool for Barnsley, it was likely not the plan to only go on to play two times for the club, but somehow that has transpired.

Within months he found himself out on loan in Slovakia and looking back that was a clear indication of where this one was going.
