22 Kids and Counting star Sue Radford in tears as family hits final milestone in 35 years

Star of 22 Kids and Counting Sue Radford was visibly upset during Sunday's episode (August 25) of the Channel 5 show after the family hit a final milestone. For 35 years, Sue has been taking her children to nursery, and now it has come time for her youngest, four year old Heidi Radford, to progress to primary school.

Heidi marks the end of an era for the family, following in the footsteps of her eldest sibling Chris, 35, who started the nursery journey over three decades prior.

"It's such a long time isn't it", Sue remarked, reflecting on how nurseries have been integral to their family life.

"It's going to be quite upsetting when we don't have any more Radford's in nursery.", reports the Mirror. Sue confessed: "I feel a bit sad."

Noel humorously admitted his relief at the cessation of nursery fees, yet he shared that he was also looking forward to having all his children home for the summer break.

As they prepared for the last day of school, Sue acknowledged she was experiencing "last child syndrome", lamenting, "You just want them to stay little forever, don't you".

The idea of a quieter household seemed alien to Sue, who admitted, "Being a mum is my identity, I can't ever imagine ever being anything else. You just get so used to having little ones in the house, it's going to feel so empty."

Sue and Noel had their first child, Christopher, when Sue was just 14 and Noel 18, marrying three years after he was born.

Nowadays, aside from their bustling household, they run Radford's Pie Company, a bakery business they took over in 1999. The Radfords, with a brood of 22 children and 10 grandchildren, and another one on the way, certainly have a full house.
