We're through the first few days of 2024 NFL free agency (which just officially opened at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday), and we've seen plenty of stars land big-money deals during the legal negotiating window. 2023 team: San Francisco 49ers | Age in 2024 season: 30
Armstead — who was released and is now a free agent — had five sacks, 20 pressures and 27 tackles in 12 games last season. At 6-foot-7 and 290 pounds, he is an interior matchup threat in pass-rush situations with the movement skills to be deployed on stunts. And he has the physical presence to make run-game stops.
2023 team: Washington Commanders | Age in 2024 season: 30
A veteran with savvy coverage technique and transition speed out of his pedal, Fuller grabbed two interceptions last season, giving him a total of 16 in his career. He'd be a smart fit for a quarters-based system. And Fuller can set an edge against the run, too, with 79 tackles in 2023. I see a player who can boost the profile of a contender's secondary.
