Several key deals shook up the draft board, including the Washington Wizards trading for the No. 14 pick (selecting guard Bub Carrington) and sending veteran forward Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Wizards also acquired guard Malcolm Brogdon, a 2029 first-round pick, and two second-round picks in the deal. Carrington's selection gave the Wizards two lottery picks on the night after taking forward Alex Sarr at No. 2.
Another notable lottery deal involved the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Spurs selected guard Rob Dillingham with the No. 8 pick then traded him to Minnesota in exchange for a protected 2030 pick swap and a 2031 unprotected first-rounder.
