2024 MLB MVP odds: Ronald Acuña Jr.'s ACL injury tears into the oddsboard
We're deep into May of the MLB season, and Mookie Betts and Juan Soto remain the favorites to win MVP for each league — but both are facing intense competition from their own dugouts.
Unfortunately, for Atlanta Braves fans, there is one less competitor in the National League race now that Ronald Acuña Jr. has suffered a season-ending ACL injury.
The unanimous 2023 NL MVP, Acuna was hoping for a repeat performance this year but was way behind last season's record-setting pace of 41 homers and 73 stolen bases.
This is the second ACL injury he has suffered in the last three years.

In the American League, Juan Soto sits at the top of oddsboard at +300.
He is closely trailed by fellow Yankee Aaron Judge.
Based on his standards, Judge got off to a slow start this year and saw his odds to win the AL MVP balloon all the way out to +1800 as he struggled at the plate.
But any early troubles have evaporated in a New York minute, as Judge has turned it around with a .637 slugging percentage and 1.050 OPS (as of May 27).
He's now at +330 on the oddsboard.
