2022 MLB playoffs - Schedule, postseason bracket, standings
The 2022 MLB playoffs are finally here with the debut of a new postseason format.
Major League Baseball premiers its 12-team format which boasts an additional wild-card spot in both the American League and National League. The fun kicks off with a jam-packed wild-card round that features eight teams competing in four wild-card games.
In the AL, the Cleveland Guardians knocked out the Tampa Bay Rays, while the Seattle Mariners stunned the Toronto Blue Jays to start their first postseason in 21 years. Cleveland moves on to play the New York Yankees in the ALDS. The Mariners move on to play the No. 1 seeded Houston Astros.
In the NL, the Philadelphia Phillies swpet the Cardinals and will now face the reigning World Series champion Atlanta Braves. Finally, the New York Mets — after being relegated to the wild-card round by the Braves, who came back from a 10½-game deficit to win the NL East on Tuesday — are hosting the San Diego Padres. The winner will face the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers.
From the first pitch of the wild-card games to the last out of the World Series, we've got you covered with the postseason bracket, schedules, results and how to watch every postseason game in October and November.
