2 transfer developments we could see emerge at Luton Town as the summer window looms

Currently occupying in the Championship play-off spots, it has been an excellent season thus far for Luton Town.

With last summer proving to be a relatively hectic transfer window at Kenilworth Road, well at the start at least, January saw just one addition, in the form of the loan signing of Jed Steer.

Whilst it will take an incredible continuation of form to win promotion to the Premier League, it is a genuine possibility this season, meaning that the Hatters could be caught in two minds when it comes to the approach ahead of the summer.

Here, we take a look at two transfer developments we could see emerge at Kenilworth Road ahead of the next transfer window…

The future of Elijah Adebayo

Adapting to the rigours of Championship football seamlessly, Elijah Adebayo has enjoyed an excellent 12 months or so with the Hatters.

The 24-year-old has 12 goals in 29 Championship outings this season, with his physicality and attacking intelligence causing havoc in England’s second-tier.

In December it was reported that Newcastle United had sent scouts to watch Luton vs Fulham, a game where Adebayo shone and would have caught the eye.

Whilst no concrete links have emerged, it would be no surprise to see top-tier interest in the forward during the summer, especially if he continues on this upward trajectory.

Peter Kioso’s situation

Speaking to the club’s media about Peter Kioso as soon as the January transfer window shut, Jones said: “We have to get to a point with Pete where we believe he will be a Luton Town player or we be fair to him and let him develop his career elsewhere.

Kioso has been rather unfortunate in his Luton career, with James Bree emerging as a top-level option at right wing-back.
