Rugby football

All roads will lead to Marwa Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos, for the 10th edition of the Sandie Beach Rugby fiesta, scheduled for this Sunday, December 4.

The yearly sports, music and entertainment event has become a regular staple in the local and international rugby football calendar, as it continues to attract rugby football players, teams and enthusiasts from within and outside Nigeria.

Speaking on the event, Chief Executive Officer of Turbocrest, organisers of the event and former Nigeria male rugby team player, Tunbosun Johnson, he said this year’s edition would be special in several ways, as it is also to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the event. “We are happy to hit this milestone as it shows we are growing. This year’s edition is very special and some of the special features include the cross bar challenge, a swimsuit contest and other fun-filled competitive games.

“We’re having six male teams including two from Ghana and Cameroon, as well as many other exciting shows,” he disclosed.  He was quick to express his gratitude to God for hitting the 10 years mark, as well as, the achievements of the event, in providing an avenue for lovers of the game to come out and enjoy it in a very interesting and exciting fiesta like atmosphere, while luxuriating on a sunny beach.

“We are officially an international event with several local and foreign interests and teams on board and the standard is growing as well as the numbers.”

While rallying for more individual and corporate supports to make the annual rugby football fiesta bigger and better, he expressed his gratitude to the some of the corporate supporters and sponsors of the event.
