The Under-17 Indian women wrestling team was on Saturday left stranded at the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan after missing a flight back home following a highly successful campaign at the World Championships. The nine women wrestlers and three coaches were scheduled to fly back to India on Saturday evening but they were booked in separate flights. The coaches -- Jai Bhagwan, Shilpi Sheoran and Rekha Rani -- were scheduled to fly on an Emirates flight with a stopover in Dubai while the young wrestlers were booked in Qatar Airways.

For India, Mansi Lather (women's freestyle 73 kg), Pulkit (women's freestyle 65 kg), Neha Sangwan (women's freestyle 57 kg) and Aditi Kumari (women's freestyle 43 kg) secured gold medals, as per Olympics.com. So far, India has secured six medals in the competition, including two bronze medals by Ronak Dahiya (greco-roman 110 kg) and Sainath Pardhi (greco-roman 51 kg).

Vinesh and Sakshi on ‘X', tagged the Delhi Police, the Delhi Commission for Women, and the National Commission for Women, raising concerns about the safety of the women wrestlers who are key witnesses in the case and wrote, “Delhi Police has withdrawn the security of the women wrestlers who are going to testify against Brij Bhushan in the court."

In a sparkling show by India's women wrestlers at the Under-17 World Championships, four grapplers annexed the titles here on Thursday and at least two more are in gold medal contention. Aditi Kumari (43kg), Neha (57kg) and Pulkit (65kg) and Mansi Lather (73kg) won world titles in their respective categories with remarkable ease.Kajal (69kg) and Shrutika Shivaji Patil (46kg) will also compete in the gold medal bouts on Friday after making the finals. India can bag more medals as Raj Bala (40kg) will compete in the bronze play-off while Muskan (53kg), Rajnita (61kg) are still in contention for podium finishes by making the repechage round.

Putting up a dominant show, all four Indian women wrestlers in action, including Aditi Kumari, Neha and Pulkit, got themselves in title contention at the Under-17 World Championships on Wednesday. Aditi Kumari put up an impressive show against Ukraine's Karolina Shperyk (10-0) and Marriem Mohamed Abdelaal (4-2) to set up the 43kg semifinal against Aleksandra Berezovskaia. She carried forward her terrific run with a 8-2 win in the semifinals to set up the 43kg final with Maria Louiza Gkika from Greece.
