The former India captain was undone by an error of judgement when he was run out for 121, following Alzarri Joseph's direct hit at the non-striker's end from square-leg.

India's bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has dubbed the pitch used for the second Test as "very, very slow for batting" and criticised the West Indians for "not even trying" to play shots. Down 0-1 in the two-match series, the West Indies, in response to India's first-innings total of 438, looked in no hurry to score through the third day's play at Queen's Park Oval. "The pitch is very slow, very easy for batting. Towards the end, it started turning a bit. West Indies were defensive with the bat too. When there's an attempt to play shots, there's an opportunity to get a wicket but they didn't even try that.

Ravichandran Ashwin produced the delivery of the series to breach a dogged Kraigg Brathwaite's defence as West Indies crawled to 174 for 3 at tea against India on the third day of the second Test on Saturday. West Indies skipper Brathwaite (75 off 235 balls) used his enormous powers of concentration to frustrate the Indian attack on an insipid track before world's No. 1 Test bowler held the centre stage with a magical moment that brought the smiles back in Indian camp.

Star India Virat Kohli broke numerous records on Friday after he brought up his 76th century against West Indies in the ongoing second Test at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. It was the 500th international match for the former India skipper, who went on to smash his 29th Test ton and first overseas hundred after a hiatus of almost five years. Kohli reached the 100-run mark in the 91st over of India's innings on Day 2, after he smashed a boundary off Shannon Gabriel's delivery.

Virat Kohli on Friday ended a five-year long wait for a Test ton in overseas conditions. That it came in his 500th international match, which is also India's 100th Test match against West Indies, made the occasion extra special. The 121-run knock at Port Of Spain, Trinidad, was also Kohli's 76th international ton. He thus became the new record holder of most tons in the first 500 international matches, surpassing Tendulkar's record of 75 tons. It was Kohli's 29th Test ton, equalling the record of Don Bradman. Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar also got the 29th of his 51 Test centuries in Port of Spain.

Kohli, who resumed on 87 on day two of the second Test match against West Indies, completed a flawless hundred to take his tally of Test hundreds on par with Sir Donald Bradman.
