The weightlifting Indian contingent has brought the most number of medals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games. The first medal for the country was brought home by Sanket Sargar as he won a silver medal and then Mirabai Chanu ended up winning a gold on the same day. Jeremy Lalrinnunga and Achinta Sheuli also ended up winning gold medal, to bring joy to the entire nation.

Day 6 of the ongoing Commonwealth Games was another fruitful outing for the Indian contingent as they managed to silver and bronze medals to their kitty. High jumper Tejaswin Shankar ended up winning the bronze medal while judoka Tulika Maan clinched the silver medal. Squash star Saurav Ghoshal also took home the bronze medal after defeating England's James Willstrop.
Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala won gold in the men’s 100m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Omanyala made a brilliant start and pulled away to beat South African reigning champion Akani Simbine and Sri Lankan Yupun Abeykoon. Ad/> England’s Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake seemed to pull up around halfway as he finished last, while Wales' Jeremiah Azu was fifth.
England's Katarina Johnson-Thompson produced a supreme final-day performance to retain her heptathlon gold at the Commonwealth Games. After throwing a personal best of 44.63m in the javelin in the penultimate event, Johnson-Thompson was ahead by 136 points — a score which represented a nigh-on unassailable lead over Northern Ireland's Kate O’Connor going into the 800m finale.
