Pep Guardiola made a sly dig at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after Mohamed Salah won his second Football Writer’s Association Player of the Year Award.
Senior India batter Cheteshwar Pujara continued his stellar show in the English County Championship, scoring a his third century in as many games for Sussex here on Friday. Pujara, who was batting on 107 off 167 balls, hit 13 fours to help his side take a substantial lead against Durham, who were all out on 223 in their first innings. The out-of-favour India batter, who is in sparkling form, is making most of his county stint. He now has scored three hundreds including a double century in his five innings.
Liverpool will take on Newcastle United on Saturday in an away fixture at St. James' Park. Liverpool have 79 points in 33 games and will look to bag the three crucial points with an eye on the title race. Newcastle United, on the other hand, have 43 points in 34 games and aim to jump up in the points table. All eyes will again be on Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to help Liverpool get over the finishing line.
Leeds United will host league leaders Manchester City on Saturday at Elland Road. Leeds will have an uphill task as they aim to upset City who are aiming to end the season with yet another Trophy. City are currently 80 points from 33 matches while Leeds are in the middle of a relegation battle with 34 points from 33 matches. Gabriel Jesus scored four goals in the last Premier League match and will look to continue his good form.
With both semi finals currently underway at the Crucible we look ahead to the final and what’s at stake – both financially and historically.
In-form Rajasthan Royals will look to pull off a season-double over Mumbai Indians when both teams face-off in Match 44 of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. RR won the first fixture between these two sides at the same venue by 23 runs. RR are currently second in the points table, having won six of their eight games so far. MI remain firmly rooted to the bottom and are yet to win a game this season.
