Veteran batsman Azhar Ali and opener Imam-ul-Haq scored big hundreds to help Pakistan dominate Australia Saturday on the second day of the opening Test in Rawalpindi. Azhar knocked 185 and Haq a career-best 157 to guide Pakistan to 476-4 against a hapless Australian attack on a placid and unresponsive Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium pitch. Skipper Babar Azam declared the innings an hour before close in the hope of an early wicket, but Australia closed the day on five without loss after bad light ended play with 15 overs remaining. Left-handed opener Usman Khawaja scored five, while David Warner was yet to get off the mark.
Jehan Daruvala has set the second- fastest overall time at the Formula 2 pre-season test session in Bahrain. Driving for reigning champions Prema this year, the 23-year-old's best time over the three days was one minute 42.074 seconds, which put him at the top of the time sheets on the opening day of running. It also stood as the second quickest time of the whole test session, behind only Liam Lawson's Day 2 pace-setting time of one minute 41.623 seconds, a release said.

Ravindra Jadeja on Saturday said he was calm and batted in his normal way on day two of first Test against Sri Lanka. Jadeja registered his highest Test score of 175 as India declared at a mammoth 574/8 in 129.2 overs. "Feeling really good. Yesterday Rishabh was playing really well, he was taking the bowlers on, so I was just staying at the non-striker's end and enjoying his batting," said Jadeja in a post-match chat with the broadcasters.
Ravindra Jadeja paid a fitting tribute to one of his earliest mentors Shane Warne with a majestic 175 not out as India took complete command of the opening Test against Sri Lanka with a mammoth first innings total of 574/8 declared on the second day here. Jadeja or the Indian team management didn't feel that the all-rounder needed to go for a double hundred as hosts declared their innings after quite literally batting Sri Lanka out of the game. In the final session, Ravichandran Ashwin (61 off 82 balls, 2/21), having nicely warmed up with his 12th half-century, removed Lahiru Thirimanne and Dhananjaya De Silva to go past Sir Richard Hadlee's 431 victims.
