With the two-match series level at 0-0, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka would enter the second Test with the hopes of winning the series. The second Test between both these sides will begin on Monday and the match would be played at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The first Test had ended in a draw and it was Angelo Mathews who starred for Sri Lanka as he scored 199 in the first innings. In the World Test Championship standings, Sri Lanka are fifth in the table while Bangladesh are in the eighth spot.
Cheteshwar Pujara's red-hot form for Sussex earned him a place in the India squad on Sunday for the one-off Test against England in July. India were 2-1 ahead when the final Test at Old Trafford in September was cancelled following Covid-19 cases in their camp. Edgbaston will host the match from July 1. Pujara, dropped after India's tour of South Africa this year, was picked in the 17-member squad after his four 100-plus scores, including two double hundreds, in five county championship division two matches.

Cheteshwar Pujara has made a comeback to India's Test team while youngsters like Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh have received an India call-up as the All-India Senior Selection Committee on Sunday named the squads for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, beginning June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, and the rescheduled 5th Test against England, which will be played in Birmingham in the first week of July.
Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar was all praise for SunRisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik and made a case for the speedster to be included in India's squad for the one-off Test in England as well as the ODI series there. Malik has troubled batters throughout IPL 2022 with his raw pace and picked 21 wickets from 13 matches so far, after being retained by SRH ahead of the mega auction in February. Gavaskar said that it isn't just his speed that is impressive but also his accuracy.
